Butterfly World
1. ABOUT BUTTERFLY WORLD
Butterfly World is a family-run attraction featuring one of Europe’s largest collections of butterfly host plants. Visitors can explore the wonders of the Butterfly House, home to species from across the globe, and explore a fun, educational day out for all ages.
Despite their unique offering, Butterfly World’s online presence was lagging. Their old website was outdated, slow, and lacked the functionality they needed to grow their business and engage visitors.
2. PROBLEM
The previous website failed to capture Butterfly World’s colourful, interactive appeal. It was visually outdated, challenging to navigate, and had a clunky content management system, making it difficult for the team to update.
Adding to this, the site had been offline since 2019, leaving Butterfly World without a functional online platform. Plans to rebuild were delayed due to the pandemic, and by 2023, the need for a user-friendly, engaging website was more pressing than ever.
3. SOLUTION
We created a vibrant, responsive website built on the Statamic CMS, providing superior performance and an intuitive interface for the Butterfly World team. The custom design includes pop-up forms and a school enquiry form with downloadable PDFs, streamlining visitor engagement and educational bookings.
Our team spent a day capturing 4K photography and re-editing existing video content to produce a striking hero video for the homepage. The refreshed website also features SEO-optimised content that highlights Butterfly World’s attractions, conservation efforts, and school visits, ensuring it ranks well and appeals to relevant visitors.
Outcome
The new website boasts a performance score of 90%, with a fully loaded time of just 6.2 seconds, creating a super smooth user experience. High-quality visuals and streamlined navigation ensure visitors can easily find information, from booking school visits to learning about conservation efforts.
For the team, the Statamic CMS has made updates effortless, keeping the site current and engaging. Custom forms have simplified enquiries, improving connections with schools and visitors. Butterfly World now has a platform as vibrant as the experience it offers, ready to inspire and educate for years to come.
