1. ABOUT ILEX MACHINERY

ILEX Machinery is a family-run, independent supplier of new and used woodworking machinery with over 30 years of experience in the industry. 

Founded by Phillip Howells, a respected specialist in complex automated lines and double-sided edgebanders, the business has built its name on technical expertise, and providing a personal service.

Their challenge was clear:

“How do we modernise our digital presence to reflect our skillset, our scale, and the reputation we’ve worked hard to build offline?”

2. THE PROBLEM

ILEX Machinery had a long-established reputation within the woodworking machinery sector, but their digital presence no longer reflected the scale or expertise of their business. 

The existing website was starting to feel dated, with limited functionality to showcase their growing product range and services.

There was a clear opportunity to improve how their skills, experience and machine stock were presented online. 

The existing content didn’t fully communicate the business’s story, technical expertise or their services in a way that would engage their target audience or support search visibility.

They were ready for an updated, well-structured website and a content-led strategy that would showcase the changes to their business over recent years. 

3. OUR SOLUTION

We began by reviewing ILEX’s existing online presence and identifying opportunities to better showcase their machinery, services and expertise.

A new website was designed and built, making it easier for customers to browse stock, explore services and get in touch with the team. The fresh design reflected the scale and quality of their operation, while improving functionality across all devices.

To support this, we created over 15,000 words of original, SEO-friendly content. This included detailed product descriptions, informative service pages, company history and team profiles, all written to engage their audience and improve search performance.

Alongside the new content, we captured high-quality photography and video to bring personality  to the brand, showcasing the machinery, and the people behind the business. We are also looking after their social media channels, delivering regular, tailored content, and promotional activity. 

Our approach involves creating and scheduling consistent, relevant content and promotional campaigns. The goals are to increase brand recognition and generate more traffic to their website.
