1. ABOUT MAXI'S MATES
Maxi’s Mates is a dog rescue charity based in North Yorkshire. Contracted by Redcar and Cleveland and Hambleton councils, they take in and care for stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs, providing a safe, supportive environment for as long as each dog needs.
The team at Maxi’s Mates is small but committed, with every volunteer going above and beyond to give each dog the chance to be rehomed and loved.
With over 300 dogs coming through the shelter last year, they rely entirely on donations and community support to continue their work.
2. THE PROBLEM
Despite a strong following on Facebook, Maxis Mates’ old site no longer reflected the scale or heart of what they do. It was difficult to update, lacked structure, and didn’t give visitors a clear path to adopt, donate, or get involved.
What they needed was a new platform that told the stories behind the rescue, showcased every dog in their care, and made it easy for people to take action. They also needed full control over updates, profiles, blogs and events, all without an in-house marketing team.
That meant a website built to do more than just look good. It had to work hard behind the scenes too.
3. OUR SOLUTION
As part of our 2024 Charity Partner of the Year initiative, we donated £10,000 of marketing time to completely rebuild the Maxis Mates website.
The goal was to create a platform that would support rehoming, fundraising, and community engagement, with the dogs front and centre throughout. The result is a modern, mobile-friendly site with custom dog profiles, one-off and recurring donation options, an events system, and a blog to share updates and success stories.
We also built in forms for rehoming, volunteering and general enquiries, along with an interactive map showing local donation drop-off points. To support the launch, we ran a full media day on-site, capturing hundreds of professional images of the dogs, volunteers and facilities. The new site gives the Maxis team everything they need to manage their digital presence in-house, and a platform to help them raise vital support for the future.

With a better user experience, and tools for adoption, donation and outreach, the site gives Maxi’s Mates the foundations they need to grow support.
It’s more than a new website. It’s a platform for funding, community, and rehoming, helping more dogs find the homes they deserve.
