We are thrilled to announce Maxi's Mates have been voted our Charity Partner of the Year!
With an incredible amount of votes, Maxi’s Mates will receive £10,000 worth of professional marketing support from Surge.Â
The charity was founded in 2012 by Jane Galliford and Michelle Cooper, they began with a mission to raise awareness about abandoned dogs like Maxi, a stray they rescued in desperate circumstances. Over the years, Maxi’s Mates has grown significantly, now operating 52 kennels and holding stray dog contracts for Hambleton District Council and Redcar & Cleveland Council.Â
With our marketing support, the charity plans to build a new website, enabling them to raise more funds and help even more strays find loving homes. We are proud to support such an inspiring organisation that is truly making a difference!
Thank you once again to everyone who took the time to vote and for supporting us in selecting our next Charity Partner of the Year!
About The Other Nominated Charities
4Louis
4Louis was founded by Kirsty, Louis' mother, after the heartbreaking stillbirth of her son Louis Robert Joseph on 10th December 2009. Through the grief, Kirsty and her partner Michael wanted to ensure that other families experiencing the loss of a baby had support and memories to hold onto. 4Louis provides memory boxes to hospitals, filled with items such as ink prints and clay impressions, offering grieving families something to cherish during an unimaginable time.
ABC Counselling
ABC Counselling provides vital therapy services to children, young people, and families across Tees Valley. As they approach their 10th anniversary in 2025, they’re proud of the difference the services have made in supporting mental health and well-being in the North East. The charity's goal is to continue expanding their counselling services, offering a safe and compassionate space for those in need.
North East Opera (NEO)
North East Opera (NEO) empowers individuals from diverse and challenging backgrounds, including those who have experienced homelessness, substance-abuse, neurodiversity, or asylum seekers and refugees in Middlesbrough. Originally part of the award-winning Streetwise Opera, NEO became its own charity in January 2023 after the pandemic halted Streetwise's work in the region. Based at Middlesbrough Town Hall, NEO runs weekly workshops at MTH and the Methodist Asylum Project. Through inclusive and creative teaching, they explore music from 80s ballads to opera.
